Now there is no excuse: the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement (NLCA) is now easy to grasp, thanks to the publication of "A Plain Language Guide to The Nunavut Land Claims Agreement" released May 25 in Iqaluit.

The simplified version has entries such as "Government Jobs for Inuit," and they contain point form explanations such as: "Government must find out what stops Inuit from getting and keeping jobs in the government."

It also contains nuggets like, "More than four out of five people in Nunavut are Inuit. So the Agreement wants Inuit to eventually hold four out of five government jobs."

Inuit artwork by Germaine Arnaktauyok, Elsie Anaginak Klengenberg, Kenojuak Ashevak and others grace the pages of the guide.

It will be distributed to schools and is available free of charge in Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun and English at NTI offices in Nunavut.
