The yellow fruit is the official symbol of the laughter day festivities.
Sorensen's giggling de-meanour is catchy, which is the effect she's looking for as the city gears up to celebrate World Laughter Day May 2, proclaimed by Mayor Gord Van Tighem. The fun goes 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Javaroma.
It's a "happydemic," she says, and she hopes to infect as many people as possible.
The happy movement started in Yellowknife last year.
This city is one of only a handful of Canadian cities who celebrate the day, which originated in India in 1998.
"I think our event in Yellowknife is going to be the biggest and most versatile event (in Canada)," she says.
