The Inuvik accounts will be serviced through the Yellowknife and Whitehorse branches from now on.
"The operating costs are expensive and it's hard to get trained staff, to pay an experienced person," said Arctic Insurance general manager Joanne Walker. "Our large commercial accounts in the Inuvik area will still get visits (from our staff)."
No jobs were lost in the closure, which took effect Feb. 27.
Business clients have all been notified and toll free numbers have been posted in advertisements.
"It's not going to cost them anything to call us but it worries the clients," said Walker.
Arctic Insurance offers all types of insurance, from tenant and house insurance to commercial policies, as well as insurance for those operating in the tourism industry.
