Inuvik (Feb 23/04) - A 50-year-old Inuvik man was found dead on the corner of Mackenzie Road and Union Street in Inuvik, Feb. 20.

Inuvik RCMP received a call early Friday morning from a concerned citizen who found the man unconscious, lying on the road.

The victim was transported to Inuvik Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead, said Inuvik RCMP Cpl. Merle Carpenter.

RCMP are still investigating but say foul play is not suspected and alcohol was not a factor.

The body was transported to Edmonton for autopsy. RCMP have withheld the man's name until next of kin are notified.
