Last April, police had issued a public warning that Mandeville had moved to Yellowknife.
Information from his court files at the time indicated he had a 100 per cent probability of re-offending within seven years of his release.
He was released from a federal prison in 2002 after serving less than four years for two counts of sexual assault.
As a result of his most recent arrest, Mandeville will be remanded into custody until his territorial court appearance Feb. 24.
Yellowknife RCMP Insp. Paul Richards said the new charges stem from one count of not seeking approval to live at a residence.
The second count from January was for being in close proximity with a youth in a residence without prior approval of probation services or the RCMP.
Mandeville has had 13 past convictions, including four for sex offences -- two of which involved children.
There were 28 probation conditions included in the sentence, such as keeping 50 metres away from any school, library, playground or other place children under 18 would be present.
