Rae-Edzo (Dec 22/03) - A 29-year-old man was killed Friday when the snowmobile he was a passenger on struck a rock and rolled over.

The accident happened about 5:30 p.m. on Marion Lake on the trail between Rae and Edzo.

Police and nurses from Rae arrived on the scene, and found Lloyd Wedzin unconscious beside the snowmobile.

He was immediately transported to the Rae Health Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police could not comment on whether speed or alcohol played a role in the accident at this time. The driver's condition is not being released.

Police are continuing their investigation.
