Yellowknife (Dec 12/03) - Chief Electoral Officer David Hamilton is awaiting an investigator's report into a complaint filled following MLA-elect Roger Allen's victory in the Nov. 24 territorial election.

Hamilton said based on regulations set out in the territory's Election Act, he cannot comment on the matter until he sees the report.

"If the complaint is unfounded I'm not at liberty to discuss the nature of the complaint," he added.

An official from Elections NWT was in Inuvik last week to investigate the complaint. Hamilton said he expects to rule on the report this week when the investigator returns from looking into another complaint filed in the North Slave region.

Altogether, four complaints were filed following this race compared to 15 for the 14th Legislative Assembly elections.
