Yellowknife (Dec 10/03) - She's a two-in-one tag-team combo, offering both personal training and advice on diet to achieve peak performance.

Jennifer Dunne, originally from Winnipeg, moved recently to Yellowknife with her husband from Vancouver.

Upon her arrival, Dunne began thinking of starting a business. In short fashion, Health is Wealth Nutrition and Fitness Consulting was born.

A registered dietitian and certified personal trainer, Dunne has worked out of Vancouver General Hospital as a dietitian. She acquired her undergraduate degree from the University of Manitoba in 2001, studying human ecology and majoring in dietetics.

"Basically I meet with people to find out what they want. I tailor each person's program for individual needs," she says. "If people want just nutrition or personal training, it's up to them."

The personal training being offered by Dunne can be performed wherever the client wants -- either at home or at a fitness facility. Dunne works in association with Break Away Fitness Centre.

Even though Dunne has only recently started her business, she already has 10 clients. Among those clients are two advanced karate athletes, both of whom are training for national competitions in March.

As a dietician, Dunne says most of her clients are concerned with weight loss as well as health in general.

She charges $55 for an initial consultation and $60 an hour after the initial session.
