Police say the complainants, aged nine and 11 at the time of the alleged assaults, came forward last year after the man was tried on a similar charge.
He was subsequently acquitted when a judge ruled his accuser lied on the stand.
"They heard about the case and offered new evidence," said RCMP Const. Kerri Riehl. "We conducted another investigation which led to the new charges."
There is no statute of limitations on indecent assault. The current charges date back to 1973.
Riehl would not discuss the exact nature of alleged crimes, but did say the girls were not related to the accused.
The man appeared in front of a justice of the peace on Oct. 16 and is due back in territorial court on Nov. 25.
