Yellowknife (Oct 01/03) - RCMP are investigating the sudden death of a man who was found early Tuesday afternoon at the Polaris apartments.

Police were unable to release any details about the victim or the circumstances surrounding his death.

"Nothing has been ruled in and nothing has been ruled out," said RCMP Insp. Paul Richards.

Witnesses report seeing the man being carried out of the building -- which is on the corner of 52 Avenue and 49 Street -- on a stretcher.

After he was taken away in an ambulance, a team of RCMP forensic investigators combed the ground floor apartment for clues, said one resident of apartment complex.

Richards said law enforcement officers were working in conjunction with the coroner's office to determine the cause of death.
