Noah Meeko surrendered to police Oct. 7.
Meeko faces eight charges, including assault with a weapon, uttering threats, unlawful confinement and other weapon-related offenses.
The police were sent to Meeko's home to arrest him after he failed to appear at the detachment office.
Earlier this summer Meeko was convicted of sexual assault. As part of his sentence he had to report to the police in October. Members from the Ottawa Emergency Response Team, the Iqaluit Containment Team and a police dog were called into the search.
Meeko has been sent to Iqaluit. No date has been set for his court appearance.
