"We had a beautiful spring, but a bad summer," said Marty Kuluguqtuq in Grise Fiord.
That community has been getting wet, cold temperatures with snow, sleet or rain for the better part of three weeks.
"Today, we're all enjoying the little sunlight we have left.
"We still have close to 24 hours of sun ... on a clear day," said Kuluguqtug on Monday.
Over on the east side, in Clyde River, Mosie Sanguya said it hasn't been the greatest summer.
"It's been kind of cold, colder than usual," she said.
And while they haven't been getting much rain, they haven't been getting much sun either.
"It's cold, cloudy and foggy. Even right now, it's cloudy," Sanguya said.
On the west coast of Hudson Bay, residents were hunkering down at the end of July because of the heavy rain and winds.
That's been changing recently, with temperatures soaring to the high teens on that side of the bay.
Back in Iqaluit, after about three weeks of beautiful weather, residents bundled up as the cold and rain moved in for the weekend.
While no one was out with umbrellas (too windy) some parkas were taken out, and hoods and hats were the norm for those venturing outdoors.
