Sachs Harbour (June 02/03) - Three children under 12 years old are responsible for a house fire at the Parks Canada residence in Sachs Harbour on May 9.

According to Inuvik RCMP, the three children broke into the home and set fire to the couch.

RCMP were notified at 8 p.m. that day. The fire was extinguished by the Sachs Harbour volunteer fire department.

No one was hurt in the incident but police say "considerable damage" was caused to the home.

The children are too young to be charged with a crime but have been spoken to by the local authorities.
