Iqaluit (June 02/03) - Christian Dederick, 33, of Iqaluit has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after RCMP found a 50-year-old man unconscious in a house in the 22 area on May 24.

The injured man was treated for head wounds at Baffin Regional Hospital and then medivaced to Ottawa Civic Hospital. He is in serious condition.

Sgt. Greg Bursey of the Iqaluit RCMP said Dederick was arrested at the scene. Both men had been drinking.

Dederick appeared in court May 27. The case was adjourned to June 3.
