That's when her car wheels caught in gravel and the vehicle flipped over, according to RCMP Insp. Paul Richards.
The woman -- the only person in the car -- escaped uninjured but her 1997 Honda caught fire.
"The vehicle burnt and the fire started to spread to the surrounding bush," said Lieut. Chucker Dewar.
An ambulance, fire truck and water tanker arrived at the scene -- between the Cassidy Point turn-off and boat launch.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.
"Probably within a couple minutes, we had the fire knocked down and under control," he said.
Dewar said damage to the care is estimate is $15,000. "It's a complete write-off," he said. Because there's lots of peat moss near the scene, they used a tanker to soak down the entire area to prevent the fire from restarting. "The warm weather will start to dry out the bush and any little hot spots can get going again really easily," said Dewar.
