Yellowknife (May 09/03) - One of the joys of going to the spring trade show is getting the chance to win a door prize.

This year will not be any different.

Almost all of the booths will have draws and give-aways for those attending.

Northwestel Cable Inc. will have numerous gifts to give away.

Company employees will be handing out keychains, pencils, pens and balloons from different channels, such as MuchMusic, TLC, Golf and Speed.

The cable company will also be holding hourly draws for golf shirts and sweatshirts. They will also have company t-shirts to give away.

For existing clients, there will be three prizes available for two months service on their current cable television package.

New customers will also be able to sign up for internet service and, with special coupons, get two months free.

If a person does sign up for internet services, $20 out of the connecting fee will go toward promoting the Yellowknife Foster Family Association's Camp Connection.

Stanton Territorial Hospital Foundation will be at the show to promote and sell tickets from this year's raffle.

Tickets will be selling at $20 for one and $100 for six.

With only 2,500 tickets available, Yellowknifers have a good chance of winning the grand prize on July 1.

The prize includes a 1.22 carat diamond donated by BHP Billiton Diamonds Inc., $1,000 in spending money and a trip for two to Ekati Mine.

The money raised from the raffle goes toward Project Looking Glass, an effort to purchase five special microscopes for Stanton.

Buffalo Airways offers a return trip for two to Hay River as its door prize.

The trip will be valid for one year.

The company's school of aviation will put together a grab bag for its draw prize.

West Edmonton Mall will be giving away a promotional sheet that can be turned in for a coupon book or a free attraction pass at the mall.

Click It! will be giving away CD-Rom training modules and will have as their draw prize a one day computer course of the winner's choice.

Diamond Glass will offer as a door prize a custom doubled mirror.
