Yellowknife (May 02/03) - The RCMP are hoping Yellowknifers come out in droves to a meeting about alcohol abuse Tuesday at Northern United Place.

RCMP Const. Dino Norris believes the current process of dealing with alcohol abuse through myriad government and community agencies is not working.

"The only way we can start to address this problem is to recognize that we all own the problem and work together to solve it," he said.

The meeting will take place on May 6 at 6 p.m. The location has been changed from the Tree of Peace to Northern United Place to accommodate a bigger crowd.

"There's been a huge interest," said Norris.
