Yellowknife (May 21/03) - Science is for sharing at Ecole Allain St. Cyr.

On May 9, 22 projects filled the Grade 4-5 and 6-7 classrooms for the school's bi-annual science fair.

The students spent the past month working on the professional-looking displays and experiments.

During the fair the 19 students were judged by volunteers and then encouraged to make presentations about their project to their schoolmates.

"I think it's a good experience for the kids because of the research that goes into it, the presentation and the scientific process," said Grade 6-7 teacher Pierre Ouellet.

This year's Grade 4-5 winners include: first for Julia Marsh and Anisa Madji, second for Amber O'Reilly and Ishai Forget-Manson and third for Sarah John and Catherine Robinson.

The Grade 6-7 winners include: first for Stephen Pontus, David Robinson and Saad Abdel-Megid, second for Marie-Christine Auger and Chloe Letourneau-Paci and third for Melanie Mercure and Jessica Fleury.
