The highlight of the night was a sendoff for Tony Coe, who is retiring after 28 years of service with Yellowknife No. 1.
As a going away present, superintendent Judith Knapp read some of his career highlights as custodian at Sir John Franklin high school and presented him with a jacket.
Pamela Petten, who has worked for the board for 18 years and is leaving the district, was also honoured. She was presented with a watch.
Seven staff members of Yellowknife No. 1 were honoured for their 25 years of service with the district.
Nancy Kapicki, Wilson Shea, Al McDonald, Robert Popson and Roger Windle were all on hand to receive their award.
Marylyn Popson and Christine Tricoteux could not attend the ceremony held at Sir John Franklin.
For their 20 years of service, Sandra Schmaltz, Marilyn Malakoe and Joyce Whiteford were each presented with gifts. Bill Burlington was also honoured but he could not be at the ceremony.
Trustee Terry Brookes, trustee Mildred Wilke and assistant superintendent Mel Pardy presented the awards.
