Norman Wells (Jan 27/03) - Police continue to search for two suspects who beat and robbed a physically disabled man at the Yamouri Inn in the early morning hours of Jan. 14.

RCMP Const. Harvey Pierrot said despite several businesses -- including the inn -- offering up to $3,500 in reward money, they've only received a few leads thus far.

"We've received a number of tips, not as many as we'd like, but we did receive a few tips and we are currently following up on those tips," said Pierrot.

The suspects are described as in their late teens/early 20s, aboriginal, between 5'7" and 5'8" in height, with a slim build and short cropped hair.

A composite sketch was compiled for one of the suspects but the victim was unable to thoroughly describe the second, said Harvey.

The victim, Jimmy Tutcho, acting band manager for Colville Lake, was returning to his hotel room when he was robbed. He received severe facial injuries in the assault, and was flown to Yellowknife for treatment at Stanton Territorial Hospital. The assault caused outrage in both Norman Wells and Tutcho's home community of Deline, particularly since he's in his 50s and has limited use of his arms.

Tutcho has returned to work but declined to comment, saying he didn't want to jeopardize the case.
