Iqaluit (Jan 20/03) - Qikiqtaaluk Corporation President Johnny Mike said Baffin Gas Bar in Iqaluit is doing so well he wants to give a little something back to loyal customers.

As of midnight on Jan. 16, gas prices were brought down from 92.9/litre to 89.9/litre cents.

"It's not a large amount but it will count in the long run," said Mike.

Over the last 12 months, Mike said the sales at Baffin Gas Bar have increased in volume because of a growing population, more cars and good service.

The price was 92.9 cents since November 2002.

Chris West, Manager of retail operations for Qikiqtaaluk Corporation, said the discount will be applied for several months.

"We'll have to look it over when the new fuel shipment comes in again in July but until then it will stay the same," said West.
