Charges laid in cabin fire

Yellowknife (Sep 13/02) - Yellowknife RCMP have laid two charges in connection with a log cabin fire in Old Town early Sunday morning that left two teens in hospital.

Two Yellowknife teenagers, Seth Rowe, 18, and a 16-year-old, who cannot be named under the Young Offenders Act, have been charged with arson. They were in police custody and set to appear in territorial and youth court this morning to face the charges.

The blaze, at the Old Town Log Cabins at 5005 Bryson Drive, destroyed the front of the cabin.

Lindsey Rocher, 15, and Claire Brookes, 17, injured in the fire, were in stable condition at the University of Alberta hospital, in Edmonton.
