Sgt. Scott transfers to Saskatchewan

Yellowknife (July 10/02) - Former Yellowknife RCMP Staff Sgt. Terry Scott has not taken an early retirement but has transferred to another detachment.

Scott has accepted a transfer position at an RCMP detachment in Saskatchewan, according to Sgt. Phil Johnson. Sgt. Al McCambridge is temporarily taking over Scott's duties as Staff Sergeant of the Yellowknife detachment's General Investigation Section.

As for who will fill Scott's shoes, Johnson said he is unsure whether the position will be filled by a member currently posted in the South or an officer already working in the North. Johnson said the position could be filled by transferring another staff sergeant to Yellowknife or by offering the position as a promotion.

"Those competitions can sometimes take months to get resolved," he said.
