Yellowknife (Mar 06/02) - RCMP are investigating the death of a Cambridge Bay man at the Igloo Inn at noon Sunday.

Jimmy Kaosoni, 35, was discovered dead in his room. The cause of death is unknown at this time.

NWT chief coroner Percy Kinney said there was no evidence of foul play or suicide.

" We dont know how he died, so were sending him down for a post-mortem," said Kinney.

The autopsy will be conducted in Edmonton.

RCMP Cpl. Mike Brandford said police are continuing to investigate, and are awaiting the results of Kaosonis autopsy. Brandford said he believed that Kaosoni was travelling through Yellowknife at the time of his death.

Police are not releasing any further details at this time.

When contacted by phone, an employee at the Igloo Inn said she was not able to comment on that. The hotel's manager did not return calls before press time.
