Long service employees honoured for dedication

Health board holds banquet

Yellowknife (Mar 01/02) - Long services employees with the Inuvik Regional Health and Social Services Board were honoured at a banquet at the Finto Motor Inn Feb. 18.

The awards were divided up into service as of December 2000, and as of December 2001.

In the December 2000 category, social worker Debbie Greenland of Aklavik was honoured for 20 years of service.

Honoured for 15 years were Laurie MacNabb, distribution supervisor in stores in Inuvik, and Deborah Tynes, director of social health programs in Inuvik.

Honoured for 10 years of service were senior attendant Esther Joe of Aklavik; Simon Jozzy, regional dental programs officer in Inuvik; Betty Tetso, community health representative in Deline; and Sharon Tutcho, community health representative/lay dispenser in Colville Lake.

Six people were honoured based on years of service as of December 2001. Elaine Doctor, a social worker in Tulita, was honoured for 25 years of service.

Honoured for 20 years were Margaret Elanik, a caretaker-housekeeper in Aklavik, as well as Anita Pokiak, clerk interpreter in Tuktoyaktuk, and Neil Griffith, general duty nurse in the outpatient-emergency department in Inuvik.

Wayne Greenland, caretaker in Fort McPherson, was honoured for 15 years of service. Honoured for 10 years was Sandra Lockey, nurse educator in Inuvik.
