Yellowknife (Nov 09/01) - Jason Howie has lost his mittens.

And he is not the only one who lost something after a post office break in on Oct. 25.

A few days after someone entered the post office after-hours and sifted through mail and packages, Howie went to pick up a pair of gloves he ordered.

"The package was ripped open and there was just a slip in it," he said, adding, "I heard I wasn't the most unlucky person, just losing a pair of mitts." Howie heard someone may have lost an engagement ring.

Canada Post area manager David Craig said it took workers a few days for to put the packages and contents back together.

"There were some items that were pieced back together and delivered," he said.

Police have arrested an individual in connection with the break-in.
