Northern News Services

Yellowknife (Oct 08/01) - A 60-year-old Yellowknife man died Saturday, an apparent drowning victim.

The man was pulled from the waters of Narcisse Lake, 48 kilometres north of the city, early Saturday evening by the owner of a cabin on the lake, said NWT chief coroner Percy Kinney.

The name of the victim was not released pending notification of next-of-kin. The body was flown to Yellowknife Sunday morning. Kinney said the death is not being regarded as suspicious.

The official cause of death will be determined by a post-mortem in Edmonton, Kinney said.
