Inuvik (Aug 13/01) - Anderson Exploration's new Northern drilling rig continued its journey northward.

Akita Equtak Rig 63 will be the first rig operated by Anderson Exploration in the Mackenzie Delta.

The new rig will be used initially on Anderson Exploration's Tuktoyaktuk Blocks.

As part of Anderson Exploration's Tuk 2 drilling program, the rig will see two wells drilled during the coming winter. Anderson has a 40 per cent stake in the Petro-Canada operated Kurk M-15 well. Petro-Canada is also a 50 per cent partner in Anderson's Tuk 2 drilling program.

The rig is a joint venture between Akita, the Inuvialuit Development Corporation and Anderson.

After being trucked to Hay River, the rig is being loaded on a barge to move northward to the Mackenzie Delta.
