Iqaluit (July 30/01) - Police are asking for the public's help after a woman was sexually assaulted near White Row housing units last weekend.

The suspect is described as a medium-build Inuk male, approximately six feet tall with notably bad body odour and a big belly. The assailant wore a black nylon-like jacket at the time of the attack.

Iqaluit RCMP Sgt. Michael O'Malley would not release the victim's age, but confirmed the woman was an adult. The attack took place in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 21.

"There's no indication she knew the man," O'Malley said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Iqaluit's RCMP detachment.
