Yellowknife (Mar 30/01) - A chopper belonging to Great Slave Helicopters made what the company calls a "precautionary" landing at an isolated camp Tuesday morning.

The craft, with two people aboard, made the unscheduled landing at Kennady Lake, a DeBeers diamond exploration camp about 250 kilometres east of Yellowknife.

"It was out there on a job but there was nothing in particular that I would call an aircraft accident," said Great Slave spokesman Rob Askin.

"We had a maintenance problem but it's fixed," he said without revealing details.

He said there were no injuries.

A Transport Canada spokesman says the department should hear from the company.

"If there's been a precautionary or emergency landing, the operator has to file a report with us on any mechanical problems," Neil Green said from Edmonton.
