IQALUIT (Nov 01/99) - Winners in the Road to Nowhere lot lottery will be selected in late November, says the Municipality of Iqaluit's land administrator.

The $250 tickets are up for grabs and Carl McLean says the ballot draw for the 68 single-family residential lots is Nov. 22.

"The pipes are in the ground and the road is nearing completion," he said.

"The word out there is that a lot of people are looking for property and we've been receiving calls about them."

The value of the single-family lots is estimated at between $47,000 and $60,000, depending on the size. The price runs anywhere from $86,000 to $142,000 for the 12 multi-family lots. One commercial lot is also up for grabs.

The proposal call for the multi-family lots and the commercial lot closes Dec. 17.

The last lot lottery the municipality held was in upper Tundra Valley last May.
