Yellowknife (Nov 19/99) - Here it is, the official lineup for the first days of movie viewing at the newly- renovated Capitol.

Presenting, in the large theatre, complete with Dolby Digital sound, The World is Not Enough.

That's Bond, James Bond. For all the kids, and the adults with their inner-kid intact, Toy Story 2 plays next door.

And don't worry, the digitized sounds of the Bond adventure will not be heard in neighbouring theatres because they are now soundproof.

Finally, for all you lovers of goblins, ghosts and old-fashioned headless frights, check out Sleepy Hollow, starring Johnny Depp.

Garth Hupper, the new manager of the Capitol Theatre, explains that the two smaller theatres are too small to accommodate the Dolby technology, but they will have state-of-the-art surround sound.

Hupper is visibly hyped about all the changes, which include an added 4,500 square feet of space, all done up in warm, vibrant, cozy colours.

There's a new box office, which accepts Interac, a great, huge concession stand, which will offer treats you've only dreamed of, a party room and a video game area with all the latest, most popular games.

Hupper points to Norm Vallerand and says, "He's the guy."

The superintendent for Clark Builders is the guy who has been supervising a team of 35 people, hard at work since early October gutting and restyling our movie house.

Though the theatres themselves are not any larger, they feel more spacious.

Hupper says that's because of the way the new seats have been laid out.

A quick tryout of a seat demonstrates that they are a great improvement over the old ones. Hupper explains that it has a lot to do with the pitch of the seat. The body is positioned more naturally for viewing comfort.

The public is invited to an open house Tuesday, Nov. 23, between 5 and 8 p.m. to check it out themselves.

Join all the other movie-hungry theatre-goers who will be there to catch a sampling of the Dolby system. Movies officially begin screening Nov. 24.
