NNSL (Mar 03/99) - Four elementary school students were sent to hospital following a collision between a school bus and a pickup truck approximately 8:15 Monday morning.

A school bus carrying 12 William McDonald school children was hit from behind while stopped to pick up children.

The bus was operated by Arctic Frontier Carriers. General manager, Mark Loan, said all safety precautions were adhered to.

"A block before the driver stopped, he put on the amber flashing lights," Loan said. "Then he put on the red flashing signs and lowered the signs."

"All this and the guy still rear-ended the bus," he added.

All four children have been treated and released from hospital. No charges have been laid, pending statements from both drivers.
