NNSL (Aug 14/98) - For a four-year-old, it doesn't get any better than this.

Wylie Rudkevitch was all smiles recently after he found out he was the big winner in a recent raffle in aid of the Baker Community Centre. Raffle tickets were sold at Yellowknife's McDonalds restaurant.

And a winner he was. Afterall, how many other little guys can claim to be the owner of a Manco Fun Kart worth $1,995 from Force One?

"I won a go-kart," is how Wylie responds when asked what his thoughts were upon learning he'd been successful.

"I've been dreaming about it lots."

He also said that he plans on driving the go-kart to "a park" when he gets old enough to take over the controls himself.

Wylie's father Darwin, a Yellowknife firefighter, said Wylie hasn't been the only one in the family excited by the big win.

"We were on vacation and when we came back there about four messages from McDonalds (telling them Wylie had won)," he said.

"It was his eight- year-old brother that has been going crazy."

"I was trying to talk him into trading it in for a snowmachine, but no way," he added with a smile.

For now at least, Wylie won't be driving the go-kart. He's too small.

His dad said the family is considering trading the one-seat model in for a twin-seater. That way, Wylie can drive in his go-kart to his heart's content -- with dad behind the wheel.

And you know, the whole family is going is going to have their chance.

Have fun folks.

And Wylie, start your engines.
