Yk businessman Ron Williams brought on board by Richard Gleeson
NNSL (Nov 14/97) - The territorial government has announced changes in its senior level management. Beginning last Friday, Andrew Gamble became secretary to cabinet and deputy minister of the executive. He replaces Jeff Gilmour. "Jeff will be moving to another position in government," said GNWT press secretary Val Mellesmoen. "There will be an announcement in the next couple of weeks." Gamble becomes the fourth person to take on the deputy minister role in the last three years. Gamble previously served as deputy minister of resources, wildlife and economic development. Moving into that post will be former deputy minister of transportation, Joe Handley. Yellowknife businessman Ron Williams takes over Handley's position in transportation. Williams is president of the Andron Group of Companies and president and chairman of the NWT Communications Centre. He served as president of Mackenzie Media Ltd. from 1982 to 1996. Williams also serves on the board of the NWT Power Corporation. |
