NNSL (Aug 06/97) - Two motorcyclists are recovering from relatively minor injuries after their bike sped out of control on the Ingraham Trail Monday night.

Kevin and Nilce Warwick were coming back to Yellowknife when they hit loose gravel at kilometre 36 near Prelude Lake at 6 p.m.

"The male driver lost control of the bike on loose gravel and flipped the bike into the ditch," RCMP said in a news release.

A man and a woman who were travelling with the couple on another motorcycle said that they were going about 30 to 40 km/h when Kevin lost control coming around a turn.

Their companions, who didn't want to be identified, said that they didn't think the injuries were serious, but weren't sure.

RCMP said Kevin received a shoulder injury and Nilce appeared to suffer a broken leg in the crash.

The two couples had gone by motorbike to Cameron Falls on Monday for a picnic.

Both the Warwicks were taken to hospital -- Nilce on a back-and-neck protection board. She was also in shock after the accident.

Damage to the couple's 1975 Suzuki GT 550 is minimal.

RCMP said no charges will be laid as a result of the incident.
