Missing teen located
A teenage boy from Edmonton who was reported missing in Yellowknife has been located, according to a news release from Yellowknife RCMP issued Wednesday.
RCMP did not say where Andrew Moore, 17, was located. Edmonton Airport RCMP asked the Mounties in Yellowknife to help try to find Moore after he was last heard from before boarding a flight from Edmonton International Airport to Yellowknife on June 30.

Mountain Province director resigns
Mountain Province Diamonds announced yesterday Patrick Evans has resigned as a director of the company.
Last month Evans stepped down as chief executive officer. Mountain Province is a 49 per cent participant with De Beers Canada in the Gahcho Kue diamond mine.

RCMP probe in-custody injury
Yellowknife RCMP is calling for an external investigation after a male prisoner was hurt while in custody. According to a news release from the Mounties, the incident happened about 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Police say the prisoner suffered non-life threatening injuries while in custody and was transported by officers to Stanton Territorial Hospital for treatment. The agency has not yet been named, police stated.

Green Clean kits hit streets
The City of Yellowknife is offering businesses and residents free kits to help keep neighbourhoods tidy. The kits, launched on July 13, contain garbage bags, gloves and bag tags. The free kits are part of the city's Adopt-A-Street program, encouraging citizens to reduce litter by cleaning a street, park or trail. The kits are available at city hall, the Fieldhouse and Ruth Inch Memorial Pool and include a complimentary family pass for a city recreational facility as a thank you.

Bears close landfill to pickers
There have been numerous grizzly bear sightings at the Inuvik landfill in recent weeks, stated a news update from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
The department recommends extreme caution when unloading garbage at the landfill.
The Town of Inuvik has closed the landfill to scavenging and picking until further notice.
Saturday market is back
The first Saturday Arctic Market of the summer will be held July 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Jim Koe Park.
Jackie Challis led an effort, supported by many community members, to reinstate the Saturday markets.
The Inuvik Community Greenhouse began holding Tuesday markets from 6 to 8 p.m. in the absence of the town's usual Saturday markets.
The greenhouse will continue holding its markets, so there will be two Arctic Markets each week throughout the summer.
Inuit to gather in Alaska
Inuit from Canada, Alaska, Greenland and Chukotka are set to gather next summer on the shores of the confluence of the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas in Utqiaqvik, Alaska, for the 13th ICC general assembly under the banner "Inuit â•„ The Arctic We Want."
Inuvik hosted the 2014 assembly under the theme "One Arctic. One Future."
Inuvialuit Regional Corporation president Duane Smith is the former president of ICC Canada.
In the past, the IRC has received three seats as part of the Canadian delegation.
Strategic priorities chart approved
The Town of Inuvik approved its strategic priorities chart, which will be included in all future council packages, and is intended to keep the council's eye on the ball with regard to the town's needs.
Council priorities in the present are energy supply options, Jim Koe Park redevelopment, economic development and tourism strategy, addressing homelessness and town practices with regards to environmental stewardship.
