Man arrested after mugging in city
The RCMP says a man has been arrested and charges are pending after a mugging in the 53 Street area.
According to an RCMP news release, an individual was confronted by a man with a weapon who demanded personal property and cash at around 12:30 a.m. last Friday.
No injuries were reported. Mounties located a suspect at a nearby residence and arrested him. The suspect's name has not been released and police have not said whether the stolen items were recovered.

Mounties probe restaurant burglary
The RCMP is investigating a burglary that took place at a Yellowknife restaurant late last week.
In a news release, police stated they responded to a complaint of a break-in at the eatery at about 3:45 a.m. Friday morning.
An unknown suspect had gained entry and stole several items. RCMP is not identifying the restaurant, nor are they saying what was stolen or how the suspect got inside.

Folk on the Rocks to name headliner
Folk on the Rocks will be announcing the name of the last big artist to appear at the upcoming music festival tomorrow.
The announcement will be made on the radio, as well as Facebook and Twitter.
Andrew Livingstone, board member at Folk on the Rocks, said people are going to be excited to hear who the artist will be.
Folk on the Rocks is set to run from July 15 to 17.

MLAs, ministers have busy budget day
It will be a very busy day today for the premier, the Speaker, several cabinet ministers and MLAs.
They will all be in the legislative assembly this afternoon as Finance Minister Robert C. McLeod delivers his first budget. Then Premier Bob McLeod, cabinet ministers Wally Schumann and Alfred Moses, regular MLAs R.J. Simpson, Herb Nakimayak, Michael Nadli and Shane Thompson and Speaker Jackson Lafferty will board a plane to Hay River to attend the NWT Track and Field Championships.
They will be back tomorrow for the legislative assembly's afternoon sitting.
