According to an RCMP news release issued Wednesday, police were called to Centre Square Mall at 6:19 p.m. where a man was being treated out front for multiple stab wounds.
Paramedics were still applying bandages on the man's head when Yellowknifer arrived on the scene at 6:30 p.m.
Three police vehicles and one ambulance were parked near the Franklin Avenue entrance of the mall, working in front of a small crowd of less than 10 people.
One individual who declined to be named told an officer the victim's hood was covered in blood.
Police found another man in the area also suffering from an apparent stab wound and a female who had been assaulted.
Police believe the attacks took place at a nearby apartment building and that drugs and alcohol were factors in the incident, according to the news release. RCMP is appealing for witnesses to come forward.
