It was a busy weekend for RCMP and emergency crews up the Ingraham Trail with a truck fire and a rollover.

No one was injured when a pick-up truck was completely destroyed by fire in a sand pit near Madeline Lake on Sunday afternoon.

There were concerns the fire could spread to nearby trees. In fact, tanker planes were dispatched to the fire by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources due to high winds and fire danger.

"As ... it posed no threat to the forest resources, the tanker group was recalled to base with no action being taken," stated department spokeswoman Judy McLinton in an e-mail.

No cause has been determined although Nalini Naidoo, the fire department spokeswoman, called it suspicious.

The fire marshal's office and RCMP are investigating.

Meanwhile, police and emergency crews also responded to a report of a vehicle upside down in the Cameron River early Saturday morning. RCMP has been unable to confirm that the vehicle was in the river.

In an e-mail Const. Elenore Sturko, media liaison for the RCMP, did confirm that officers investigated a single vehicle rollover at the Cameron River bridge.

Naidoo confirmed two people were able to get out of the vehicle and alcohol was involved in the crash.

"Both patients were transported to Stanton by the Yellowknife Fire Division but (they had) no life threatening injuries," stated Naidoo in an e-mail. RCMP were unable to confirm those details. It is not clear if anyone has been charged or if

charge are pending.
