"We may continue past the Christmas season," said mall office administrator Bridget Watton.

"Foot traffic in the mall has multiplied. If we get enough interest from vendors, we'll carry on."

Yellowknife's Caroline Lafontaine, who's been making artisanal soaps for about a year-and-a-half, is one vendor who'll be back this weekend.

Last Saturday she set up a table to sell soaps made free of what she called David Suzuki's "dirty dozen" unhealthy chemicals.

Buying Lafontaine's soaps also helps out the Charles Tetcho School in Trout Lake.

"This is a fundraising activity as well for the kids in the Charles Tetcho School," she said.

"I had a workshop with the kids raising awareness about chemicals in their household products."

Proceeds after expenses from her soaps we're destined for the school. Sales were brisk, especially for colourful, lye-free, soaps created by students at the school.

"I'm sold out of the ones the kids poured," Lafontaine said. "I had a whole basket full with their names on the labels."

Lafontaine will be back for this Saturday's indoor market.
