QAMANITTUAQ/BAKER LAKE
North Country Gold Corp. is praising Nunavut regulatory agencies for approving upgrades to its Three Bluffs gold mine in a timely fashion.

The company received regulatory approvals for the necessary land and quarry leases, permits and licences to "significantly increase" exploration activities, upgrade camp facilities and construct a new all-weather road, a Sept. 14 news release stated.

"We are very pleased with the prompt issuance of the permits and licences from the Government of Nunavut, (Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada), and the (Kitikmeot Inuit Association)," North Country president and CEO John Williamson stated. "With the continued strong support, (North Country) looks forward to progressing the Three Bluffs Deposit towards development and providing opportunities to local communities."

Included in the planned upgrades is the construction of a 10-km all-weather road from the project's Hayes camp to the Three Bluffs deposit.

The project is located about 300 km north of Baker Lake.
