In response, the RCMP is planning to release a public service announcement reminding the public to have firearms dismantled before discarding them in the dump. The attack left a 24-year-old man with minor injuries on July 12 at 2:30 a.m. according to a July 13 press release. The complainant was taken to Qikiqtani General Hospital for treatment. The two suspects, one of whom was riding a grey bicycle at the time, are described as Inuit men between the age of 20-25 wearing black hoodies and jeans. They are accused of trying to rob the complainant of cigarettes.
Boating accident injures two men near Iqaluit Two male adults had to be taken to Qikiqtani General Hospital after their 24-foot canoe ran ashore and smashed into rocks 33 kilometres south of Iqaluit on July 12, according to the RCMP The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m., said RCMP Cpl. Denis Lambe. The police weren't releasing the age or gender of two children who were also on board but were unharmed. The Canadian Coast Guard brought the boaters to Iqaluit. The RCMP is investigating the incident.</b>
