Missing Lutsel K'e man found
Sam Boucher was out on rescue mission when his snowmobile, disabled machine he was towing sankAndrew Livingstone Northern News Services Published Thursday, May 12, 2011
Sam Boucher, was out on a search mission for a missing community member last Monday when he didn't return to the community after the missing man was found. Boucher was scheduled to return Monday night after the man they were looking for was found. Boucher was towing a disabled snowmobile back to the community when he hit open water on Basile Bay and both snowmobiles sank, leaving him without any transportation. "When the other member of the search party returned with the missing man, they found out he hadn't returned with the snowmobile," Cpl. Wes Heron said late Wednesday afternoon, adding Boucher should have returned before his partner did. "They had two-person search teams out for this other character. The remaining searcher and the original missing person they followed some time later and it sounds like they took a different route." Boucher was located "in good health and spirits by searchers on a Portage near Basile Bay," a press release from the police stated, adding Boucher was found approximately 50 km southwest of Lutsel K'e.
