INUVIK - The RCMP intercepted a shipment of crack cocaine bound for Inuvik on Monday, according to an RCMP press release issued Wednesday.

Although no quantity was disclosed, the police stated it was a large volume of drugs.

The RCMP consulted with a Northern transport company and confirmed the shipment was headed for Inuvik, according to the press release.

No charges were laid as of Wednesday morning.

The RCMP extended gratitude to the transportation company for its co-operation in the investigation.

Police also credited the public for providing information that led to the drug seizure.
