New health administrator in Hay River
Paul Bickford Northern News Services Published Monday, February 9, 2009
Late last year, Dana Heide was named the acting public administrator for the Hay River Health and Social Services Authority. Heide is also the acting deputy minister with the department. He replaced Gregory Cummings as public administrator. According to a department spokesperson, Cummings' contract ended and he is no longer with the department, where he was deputy minister. The spokesperson said the department is currently looking for a new public administrator to take over from Heide. Cummings was appointed to the position of public administrator by then health minister Floyd Roland in June of 2007 to replace a board made up of community members. At the time, Roland said there was a need to stabilize operations. That followed the resignation of the authority's CEO and two board members. Roland said the board was "in abeyance," but it has yet to be returned. |
