SOMBA K'E/YELLOWKNIFE - An 18-year-old woman is in custody after a truck crashed into two vehicles and damaged a residence early on June 26.
The structure of the home on Hordal Road was damaged and the two vehicles, an SUV and a truck, were also damaged and had to be towed.
The truck in question smashed into the two vehicles and pushed them into the home. The accident occurred just after 1 a.m.
RCMP said the driver fled the scene and was located and arrested by police later on Thursday.
"There are four charges currently being contemplated," said RCMP Const. Roxanne Dreilich.
Among the charges being considered is impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The woman is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 19.
Police say boy threatened them
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with uttering threats after police were alerted to a youth attempting to steal bicycles in the Range Lake Road area on Friday.
RCMP responded to the call at 9:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they reported that they found a boy punching the window of a vehicle parked in an apartment complex parking lot.
When police approached him, the youth fled the scene. RCMP pursued him on foot and he was apprehended shortly thereafter.
Man calls police for assault on sister
RCMP received a report on Sunday at roughly 10 p.m. from a man alleging that his 43-year-old sister was being beaten by her 37-year-old husband.
He reported that his sister had been hit in the face and was bleeding.
Police and Emergency Medical Services responded and the woman received medical treatment on the scene, but declined to be taken to hospital.
The suspect was not present when police arrived.
He was located a short time later and taken into custody.
An assault charge is pending.
