YELLOWKNIFE - Police seized 28 grams of crack cocaine and arrested three people at Frame Lake South home last Thursday night.

A 27-year-old woman and two men, aged 32 and 26, could be facing a variety of charges after the bust.

The suspects remain in custody, and an RCMP release stated that all three are Yellowknife residents.

Police were executing a search warrant in a Bigelow Crescent residence, according to Const. Roxanne Dreilich of the RCMP's community policing unit.

"One of the charges that is being contemplated for all three is possession for the purpose of trafficking," Dreilich said.

She said the street price of crack cocaine is approximately $100 to $120 per gram, making the value of the crack seized at least $2,800.

Dreilich said while that amount of crack cocaine was not a common discovery in Yellowknife, the RCMP come across the substance in the community on a regular basis.

"It's certainly not happening every day, but it's not surprising or out of place," she said of the amount.

One of the men had outstanding warrants from unrelated charges at the time of the search.
