Yellowknife (Feb 03/06) - Student actors at St. Patrick High School are presenting Into the Woods, a Stephen Sondheim play that mixes and mashes well-known fairy tales to answer the question: what happens after happily ever after?

Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and some anthropomorphized cattle all make appearances in the comic musical drama.

Paige MacIntosh, who played a nun in the school's production of The Sound of Music last year, stars as a baker's wife.

"Drama is a really good activity to get involved in," she said. "It makes you feel like you're giving something back to the community. I'm really enjoying it."

Very cool costumes borrowed from the Chris Foreman collection help the actors spin this collage of tales.

The play runs at the Northern Arts and Cultural Centre tonight and tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee by donation at 1 p.m. Saturday.
