Yellowknife (Jan 04/06) - Santa may have eight flying reindeer, but Robin Weber had nine playful puppies to contend with last week.
Weber, a volunteer with the NWT SPCA, said the Great Slave Animal Hospital received a call from Lutsel K'e over Christmas about the unwanted pups.

"They didn't have any more room, so I got a call asking if there was anything we could do to help," Weber said of the situation.
After calling the Edmonton SPCA to ensure they would accept the pups for adoption, it was arranged that the pups would be flown courtesy of Air Tindi and First Air.
The Husky-mix puppies, arrived safely on Friday.
Weber turned her garage was turned into a nursery.
The pups became the centre of attention and were showered with love and affection during their whirlwind visit.
Weber said she had a lot of support for her decision to put up the nine animals.
"I have a very understanding husband and we're set up for this kind of stuff," she said.
"They're cute, they're playful and when they got here they were really hungry."
"They're all different colours, all different sizes and all different personalities."
Once the pups arrive in Edmonton, they will be checked over and then spayed or neutered before being adopted.
